What it helps you organize
Lunch Money brings budgeting, recurring expenses, transaction categorization, and spending analysis into one service. It supports bank syncing, CSV imports, and manual transaction entry, plus multiple currencies and budget collaboration. See the provider's features ↗
What you pay
The standard monthly plan is $10 USD. Annual subscriptions use pay-what-you-want pricing with a $60 minimum; the pricing page initially displays $100. Lunch Money offers a standard 30-day trial, rather than an ongoing free tier. Our affiliate landing page currently shows a 60-day trial offer. Confirm the trial length, price, and terms shown at signup. Current pricing ↗ · Annual minimum announcement ↗
Who might find it useful?
Consider it if you want detailed spending records and a budget in the same place, and will regularly review them. CSV and manual entry offer a way to use it without bank syncing. Its multicurrency tools may be helpful if your finances span currencies.
The tradeoffs
- It adds a bill. A subscription is only worthwhile if you use it enough to justify the cost.
- Bank syncing needs a check. Confirm support for your institutions before paying; imports or manual entry take effort.
- It is a tracking tool, not extra income. Categorizing expenses does not close a shortfall between bills and pay.
- Linked accounts involve a privacy choice. Review the provider's privacy policy before connecting financial information.
Try it only if its approach fits a problem you already have. Start with our free paycheck planner if you mainly need to line up income and due dates. Goodbudget's free manual-entry tier is another starting point before adding a subscription.
